6 April 2016 sees compensation limit increases

The annual increase in a range of compensation limits for ET claims are effective where the cause of action, such as a dismissal, is on or after 6 April 2016. The changes include:

  1. An increase to the maximum compensation for unfair dismissal, from the current £78,335 to £78,962 (or 12 months’ pay if lower); and

  2. Increasing the cap on a week’s pay, used for example to calculate statutory redundancy pay, from £475 to £479.
