Government Coronavirus Support Schemes

The Government’s Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme will launch from 26 May 2020. This enables employers with less than 250 employees to apply to HMRC to reclaim coronavirus-related SSP.

The Government has confirmed that the CJRS will be extended to the end of October, with no changes for June and July. However, from August, the CJRS will be more flexible and provide for an employer contribution to the wage subsidy. Further details will be announced by the end of May.

It has also been announced that 8 million jobs have now been furloughed with £11.1 billion claimed so far through the CJRS, in addition to claims made under the Self-employment Income Support and approved loans:
